Coming together is a Beginning, Staying together is Progress and working together is Success’. These words of
‘Henry Ford’ have transformed into reality in the case of ‘The Adoni Arts & Science College’, an educational
institution sponsored by the Rotary club of Adoni, way back in 1962, signaling a new Era, not only to provide
higher education to the underprivileged in this backward region at undergraduate level, but also to inculcate
the skills that go beyond text books, to create a better life for all.
Service above Self’, the motto of Rotary Organization, instills in me so much confidence, pride & happiness,
when I realize that each one of us associated with this college, is on the path ahead to take this prestigious
institution to the newer heights, which we actually deserve for all our 49+years of remarkable contribution to
the institution and the society at large, in moulding our wards into better citizens of tomorrow.
Golden Jubilee’ is a solemn, yet proud occasion. While the institution celebrates its glorious existence over the last 50 years, it is
an opportune time to reflect on the past and also plan for the future. Our college has served the student community with great destination.
I sincerely believe that we cannot be satisfied with the past and I sincerely hope that the best is yet to come and that the coming years
would be still more productive, innovative in providing quality education to the underprivileged. I strongly believe that it is important
for all of us associated with this institution either as administrators or faculty, being the torch bearers of this institution to be like
the Lamp that diffuses light and warmth on all.
It gives me immense pleasure and makes me feel proud in being associated with this prestigious institution as Auditor of the college in the
formative years, later as member of the Governing Body, Joint Secretary and now as Secretary & Correspondent since 2005. My period as Correspondent
of this college saw several achievements such as NAAC Accreditation, Award of CPE Status (One of the 149 colleges in the entire country).
Thanks to University Grants Commission, we are sprucing up our infrastructure to match national standards and we have been able to conduct
several UGC sponsored seminars/workshops such as three theme based National Seminars, Workshop in commemoration of the International year of
Chemistry, guest lectures on Personality development, Spoken English etc., besides taking up schemes to provide vocational training such as
Accounting & Secretarial Practice, as well as Remedial coaching to underprivileged to name a few of the several UGC sponsored schemes, that
the college is implementing.
I have the unflinching support of the revered faculty, members of the management and all those connected with this college. My deep gratitude is due to each of them.
It would be most appropriate for the learned faculty as well as other staff members, to reaffirm their commitment to the cause
of excellence and higher standards of education and Professional / Vocational integrity.
I extend my heartiest greetings as well as congratulations to all our members in the management, Teaching & Non Teaching staff and the students in
particular on the historic occasion of the Golden Jubilee year of our college. With the continued thrust of all of us, let us take a pledge to take
this Institution to newer and newer heights. I look forward to having valuable contribution from the learned faculty, who have been chosen to share
their wisdom. My best wishes in the endeavour of each one of those associated with this college, to scale greater heights of excellence. Let us light
the way of sincere and dedicated service to make this institution survive for year to come.
‘Great minds discuss Ideas, average minds discuss Events, small minds discuss people’ - E Roosevelt. Let us be the Great minds to work together for
reaching ‘A’cadamic Excellance, be ‘A’chievers of analytical skills with ‘S’elf discipline at our ‘C’entre (college) with commitment.
I wish the Golden Jubilee year 2012 to be a memorable one in the history of our college.
