Department of Electronics
To keep pace with the changing face of the academics, an undergraduate course in Electronics with Mathematics and Physics combination was started in 1989 – 90. In its nascent stage, it was integrated with Physics Department. Dr. K.B. Nagbhushana Sharma was Jointly in-charge of Physics and Electronics Department. A separate laboratory for Electronics was inaugurated by Sri. B. Chandrasekhar Reddy, Ex-MLC on 28-1-1992. The student strength of the Department increased as the B.Sc. (MPE) program stepped into its II and III years. But it is a purely self-funding program.

Staff Details of the Electronics Department
Smt. Farzana Begum, B.E. (ECE) with one year teaching experience joined the Department in 1995 and Sri. C. Murali Mohan, with five years teaching experience joined the department in 2000. They have gleaned information from various Engineering colleges and Degree colleges about the modernization of the Electronics Lab. In 2001, the Department was separated from the Department of Physics and was conferred an independent status. Smt. Farzana Begum was kept in charge of the Department. A new combination with Mathematics, Electronics and Computer Science was introduced in the place of Mathematics, Physics and Electronics. Its permissible admission strength is 30 and it is increased depending on the demand for the course that year.
Upgradation of the Electronics Department
The department received a grant of Rs 5 lakhs from UGC under UGC –BSR Grants with which Upgradation of the Electronics Lab was undertaken. Besides laying tiles and making work tables, the following equipment was purchased .

Departmental Activities
In the field of Electronics, updating the knowledge data base is indispensable one. Keeping this dictum in mind, the subject Micro processors is introduced as an Optional in III B.Sc. which is relevant to both Software and Hardware fields and many projects are also in the pipeline on ‘Embedded Systems’. Interfacing experiments in Micro processors is introduced. The department has been in constant touch with the Chairman and the Members of the Board of Studies, S.K.U, Anantapur to make the necessary revisions of syllabus according to the changing academic milieu.
